What is life without that fiery red-hot experience?
For a tingling taste sensation, 2 Hot Halal Café, at
Colours By The Bay, is the place for those who appreciate
their food hot and spicy. No coincidence then that this café was started by
Junita Jumain, a 30- something young lady who likes her
food really spicy, and who believes that many Singaporeans
also prefer their food that way. The astute Junita had also
noticed the growing popularity of halal F&B outlets.
While 2 Hot Halal Café is Junita’s first venture
into the F&B business, she is not without experience
as she has been helping out at her family’s satay
business for several years. She herself is passionate about
food and cooking. Many of the dishes that are served at
her café are based on family recipes, with several
that have been newly created by Junita herself.
2 Hot Halal café aims to introduce visitors to spicy
local and Asian fare, as well as be the favourite haunt
of Singaporeans who love spicy food served in a casual and
cosy ambience by the water’s edge.
The café has taken Asian cuisine to another level
by serving local food using less oil and with interesting
twists for that added oomph! The menu boasts a mix of local,
Indonesian, Nyonya and Western dishes. Diners can therefore
enjoy a wider range of dishes, from salad
to Tahu lengko, Soto Madura, crispy fried to Western dishes with an Asian
twist such as Marsala fish and chips, Nyonya laksa with crayfish, spicy black pepper
turkey sandwich and spaghetti goreng.
